Those squirrels don’t stand a chance ... and if that’s a golden, rub-my-tummy is about as ferocious as they get.

H e ’s a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. He’s bred to be a companion dog, but still has a bit of bird dog in him. He’ll do his best to kill a laser pointer dot and he’s pretty relentless when it comes to chasing lizards.

Those little guys will stick with you, no doubt. Literally lapdogs, and it’s all good.

Ours is a runner. If he gets a chance, he’ll bolt out th e door so he can either chase lizards or go looking for a girlfriend. Our big dog will always come home. She has escaped the back yard several times, but always turns up on the front porch. The little dog managed to get away one day. A fellow found him a couple of miles away and was nice enough to return him. The silly dog even swam a creek in his bid to escape. He might not wander as far now that he’s getting old, but when he was young, he had no fear.
